My Strategy for Photographing Multi-Faceted Clients

When a client wears many hats, their branding portraits should reflect the full spectrum of who they are without feeling scattered or disjointed. JennaMarie is a musician, educator, and business owner who needed branding images that captured it all: professional headshots, portraits with her instruments (flute, piccolo, and ukulele), and imagery that showcases her work with Little Creators Fine Arts, a program she founded to blend preschool skills with music and arts.

JennaMarie arrived with the carefully selected props, including silk scarves, rhythm sticks, egg shakers, and my personal favorite, Mrs. Beat- a stuffed beet who helps students find the "beat" in music and gardening. These colorful and textural props added personality and playfulness to the session and gave us tons of variety to work with for creative play.

The night before our session, I had a last-minute idea and my whole family helped make it happen. We picked up paint in the signature colors of the Little Creators logo and hand-painted the word “create” across pieces of newspaper. That word sums up everything JennaMarie is about: creative expression, imagination, and building an inclusive space where young children feel safe and free to explore the arts.
